This is an Antique American quilt. The quilt top was made circa 1890's-1920's. We believe it was backed and finished during a later era. It is a variation on the traditional Nine Square quilt pattern. The quilt is hand sewn but much more notable is the hand quilting. This piece was made by a master quilter! Between the large indigo sections there are quilted spiderwebs, this is very easy to see on the blue backing fabric(inside of jacket). This piece is also special for its abundance of rare and valuable indigo fabrics. In our opinion the quilt is thin, very light weight, has little to no loft(batting), and has an excellent drape. Please note: there are a few zigzag mends throughout and we have added a photo at the end of the listing as an example. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
