The Aunt Ethel

This is an Antique American quilt made circa 1930's-1940's. It is a traditional Lone Star quilt pattern. This piece has been beautifully hand quilted. We are in love with the pastel colorway the maker chose for the quilt top, but even more noteworthy was their choice in backing fabric(inside of jacket). It is a gingham fabric with red embroidery thread woven throughout, a truly specialty fabric! You will want to show this off by cuffing the sleeves or wearing this jacket inside out. This is a thin quilt, with little to no batting, in other words, it is a summer weight quilt. It was not made for warmth, but rather, aesthetics. In our opinion the quilt is soft, light weight, and has an excellent drape. This quilt is in excellent condition. This is a Lady Lancaster 10/10. Please note: there is a zig zag mend on the front bottom of the jacket, we have added a photo at the end of the listing. • The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
• This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
• The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.

This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
