This is an Antique American quilt. Made circa 1890s-1919. It is a traditional Postage Stamp Quilt pattern. It has been beautifully hand quilted. It contains many rare and valuable indigos, scraps from men's shirt, and home spun ginghams. In its day this would have been considered a Scrappy quilt. We love the pink and white gingham backing fabric(inside of Jacket), which can best be appreciated when the cuffs are rolled or the jacket is worn upside down. It is important to note that the orange fabric shows some color bleed on the inside of the jacket. We have added a photo of this at the end of the listing. The jacket also contains a few zig zag mends. This is what we consider to be a summer weight quilt. It was not made for warmth or comfort, but rather, aesthetics. It contains little to now loft(puffiness). It is extremely thin, light weight, soft and has a great drape. For its age, this quilt is in very good condition. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
