This is an American, antique quilt made circa 1890s-1920s. It is the traditional Nine Patch quilt pattern. This beauty is both hand quilted and hand sewn which is a labor of love and a lost art. The lavender fabric in this quilt is so gorgeous and so rare. We have to take a moment to appreciate it. Also, please note the backing fabric (inside of the jacket) is a wonderful contrast to the outside of the quilt. This can best be appreciated when the cuffs are rolled or the jacket is worn upside down. This is a summer weight quilt, which means there is no loft, batting, or puffiness. It was originally made for aesthetics only and not for warmth. In our opinion, this quilt is very soft, very thin, very light weight, with a perfect weight. Please note: There is a little bit of bleach and sun fade throughout on the solid green squares. This can best be seen in the video that is listed but if you would like more information please direct message us on Instagram and we would be happy to send you more videos.

- This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
- The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
