The Aunt Ethel Quilt Jacket

This quilt jacket is made with an American antique quilt made circa 1930s to 1960s. It is a traditional Trip Around the World quilt pattern. The piece has been beautifully hand quilted. The maker backed the quilt(inside of jacket), with a beautiful contrasting yellow fabric. This makes the jacket completely reversible with countless styling options. If you like to wear your Ethels inside out and upside down, this is a great jacket for you. Please see photos below for a some of our favorite styling options. In our opinion this piece is thin, soft, and lightweight, and has a great drape. It is a dream to wear. The colorway is vibrant and extremely rare. Please note, the sleeves are 1" shorther than our standard Aunt Ethel pattern. • The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
• This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
• The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.

 Please note that many of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some of our fabrics are older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
