This is an antique American quilt made circa 1890s to 1920s. It is a Lancaster County Mennonite quilt. It is a traditional Lone Star quilt pattern with an elevated border, which we have highlighted on the sleeves. This piece was made by a master. It is exceptional for its tiny pieces, crisp points, masterful hand quilting, and hand sewing. The maker backed this quilt, inside of jacket, with a striped quilt. This piece is a turn-of-the-century gem and is highly collectible. In our opinion, the jacket is super thin, lightweight, made with luxe cotton, is extremely soft, and comfortable to wear.
