This is a contemporary quilt and a future heirloom. It is a traditional Diamond Star or Pinwheel quilt pattern with extra sashing. To complete the quilt, we backed the quilt top with novelty rainbow chicken wire fabric. This piece is both a work horse and a show horse meaning it doesn’t need TLC and can handle washing unlike our antique quilts. The jacket is completely reversible and looks great styled inside out and upside down. In our opinion, the jacket is thin and lightweight. The piece does have a little stiffness because it not has seen any pre-love, it will get better with each and every wear. We rarely get to work with quilts that contain black fabrics. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
