This is an antique American quilt made circa 1920s to 1950s. It is a Lancaster County Mennonite quilt. It is a Trip Around the World, Postage Stamp quilt pattern. This piece was made by a master, it is both meticulously hand quilted and hand sewn with an elevated border. This is a very thin and very lightweight quilt that drapes beautifully. As a result it is very flattering to wear. If you live in a warm climate or are looking for a thin outer layer, this is the jacket for you. The ground color is not a crisp bright white and was never intended to be white, it is light almond or vanilla bean colored fabric.. The maker backed this quilt(inside of jacket) with a cotton muslin fabric. We found a few small tanning marks which we have tried to photograph for your convenience. Please note there is a zig zag mend on the back of the jacket. There is an iphone photo at the end of the listing for your convenience. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
