The Aunt Ethel

This is an American antique quilt made circa 1930s to 1950s. It is a traditional Grandma's Garden Quilt Pattern. The quilt has been hand quilted and hand sewn, which is a labor of love and a lost art. The maker chose a very premium soft and luxe cotton. It has a dreamy and buttery drape that is very flattering. This jacket is a dream to wear. We love that the maker backed this quilt(inside of jacket) with a bright green fabric. You will want to cuff the sleeves to show this off! Please note: There are a few zig zag mends throughout that are best seen on the inside of the jacket and we have captured examples of this, please see photos at the end of the listing. There are also a few minor age spots, the most prominent one is on the inside of the jacket. Please see the iphone photo at the end of the listing. • The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
• This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
• The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.
• One Size Fits Most - Model is 5’4 and approximately 125lbs

 Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
