This is an American antique quilt made circa 1890s to 1920s. It is a traditional Irish Chain Quilt Pattern. The quilt has been beautifully hand quilted and hand sewn, which is a labor of love and a lost art. This piece is overflowing with men’s shirt scraps and valuable indigo fabrics from the turn of the century. The maker backed their quilt(inside of jacket) with an ivory cotton muslin fabric. In our opinion, this quilt is very thin, very soft, very lightweight, and has an excellent and flattering drape. It its rare to find quilts from this era in this great of shape. It is a true gem and we were very fortunate to work with it! If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
