The Aunt Ethel

This is an Antique American quilt top made circa 1890’s to 1910’s. It is a traditional Thousands of Triangles quilt pattern. We backed this quilt top with a very rare and novelty Susan B. Anthony commemorative fabric. This fabric is meant to honor the suffragette movement, which was the movement for women to vote. In keeping with its age, the quilt top has very mild and very small age spots. They are so minor it was difficult to capture in our images. We have included a photo in the listing for your convenience. In our opinion this quilt is very thin, very lightweight, very soft, and has a flattering drape. The jacket can be worn inside out and upside down. We have added photos of just a few of our favorite styling options of this jacket. This piece is not hand quilted but was quilted on a long arm. • The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
• This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
• The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.

 Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
