The Aunt Ethel

This is a contemporary American quilt made in the traditional Irish Chain quilt pattern.  This piece is extraordinary for its tiny pieces. If you are looking to round out your quilt collection with a piece that is durable and can withstand heavy wear or children with sticky fingers, this is a great piece for you! In our opinion the quilt is thin, soft, and lightweight. This quilt has not been pre-loved, therefore, it does not have a great drape and it holds its structure. We love the precise tone of this blue. It reads neutral, like your favorite denim jacket. The Maker chose a contrasting polka dot fabric as the backing fabric(inside of the jacket), you will want to cuff your sleeves and show this off. This jacket has endless styling options, it can be worn inside out and upside down as shown in photos. Please Note: this quilt is not hand quilted and the sleeves are 2” longer than our standard Ethel pattern. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video. 

• The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
• This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
• The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.
• One Size Fits Most - Model is 5’4 and approximately 125lbs

 Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
