This is an American antique quilt made circa 1890’s to 1920’s. It is a Sawtooth star quilt pattern with extra sashing around the star. The piece is beautifully hand quilted. It is from a Lancaster Mennonite Estate sale. The quilt is an absolute library full or rare and antique fabrics. If you look closely you can find men's shirt scraps and home spun gingham fabric from the turn of the century. This is a summer weight quilt which means it was never made for warmth, but rather for aesthetics. As a result the quilt is extremely thin and lightweight. It is very soft, comfortable, and has a flattering drape. We love the contrasting paisley fabric on the back of the quilt (inside of the jacket). This Ethel looks fabulous worn inside out or upside down. It offers endless styling options. Please note: these sleeves are 1” shorter than our standard Ethel Pattern. There is no obvious fabric vulnerabilities in this quilt however, the fabrics from this era naturally tend to be weaker. This quilt should be handled with kid gloves. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
