This is an extremely rare vintage India kantha quilt. Lady found this when she was in Jaipur India. Instead of the traditional Indian straight stitch, it is filled with with rainbow color cross stitch x's throughout. The piece is overflowing with beautiful hand embroidery. In addition to the hand embroidery stitches Lady Lancaster backed(inside of vest) and quilted this piece with a contrasting polka dot fabric. The chartreuse fabric on the front is a soft velvet and very luxe. The motifs hold a lot of meaning in the Indian traditions and culture. In our opinion, the vest is extremely thin, lightweight, and has a beautiful and flattering drape. For the precocious stylist this piece can be worn inside out. We love the exaggerated funnel neck for those incognito days. Lady Lancaster loves to wear these with a favorite hat and sunglasses. Please read the size measurements below for best fit!
