This is an antique American quilt made circa 1880s to 1910. This quilt pattern has had many names throughout the years. Our favorites include; Railroad Crossing, World's Fair, Going to Chicago, and Buckeye Beauty. This quilt is beautifully hand quilted and most likely machine sewn on a Treadle sewing machine. This piece is outstanding for many reasons! We love to see the variety of valuable fabrics included but not limited to the homespun ginghams, rare indigos, and men’s shirt scraps. We love the contrasting paisley backing fabric on the inside of the jacket. You will want to cuff the sleeves to show this off! This is very comfortable and flattering jacket to wear. The piece does have medium thickness and medium loft (puffiness), but still maintains a great drape. This jacket is in great condition for its age! For closures we used faux silver and turquoise buttons. This is a size LARGE. Please read size measurements below. This piece fits a range of sizes depending on how you like to style your jackets. Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
