This is an American antique quilt made circa 1880’s to 1910’s. It is a very rare Tulip Appliqué quilt pattern. This is wearable art! This was found in Lancaster County at a Mennonite Estate sale. It is exceptional for its meticulous hand quilting and hand appliqué stitches. In our opinion the quilt is thin, lightweight, and soft.  It has a buttery soft drape and is so flattering to wear. The jacket is completely reversible. The maker backed this quilt(inside of jacket) with an incredible turn of the century fabric. You will want to show this off! Please note: the sleeves on this jacket are 3” longer than our standard Helen pattern. Disclaimer: Sadly, some parts of the backing fabric are getting weak and the rust color tulip petals show weakness throughout. It is so subtle and nearly impossible for us to pick up in our photos. However, we would be remiss if we did not mention it. Ordinarily this jacket would be in a higher price bracket,  as it is an absolute museum piece. Because of the potential vulnerability of the fabric, we have priced it accordingly. If you have further questions, please direct message us and we are happy to send you a video.

Measurements

36” back of the neck to the bottom of the hem

36” laying flat, armpit to armpit

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
