This is an American, antique quilt. It is a quintessential crazy quilt. It is hand knotted with yarn which adds texture and charm to the overall appearance of this piece. In addition, it is also hand stitched with turkey track stitches. Some of the colors used in the hand stitching are unexpected and unorthodox and we have tried to showcase them by putting these bright colors in prominent places in the jacket. In keeping with the nature of the crazy quilt, this quilt contains velvets, flannels, wools, herring bones, and hounds tooth fabrics. Surprisingly, the quilt is extremely light weight and very thin. We do not believe that there is any batting in this piece. It is in overall good condition with the exception of the mint colored fabric on the left arm which shows some pilling and holes. We have tried to show this in the photos. One of our favorite parts about this jacket is the flannel lining fabric which is lavender with orange flowers and this can be seen when the cuffs are rolled.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
