This is an American Antique quilt made circa 1890s-1920s. We believe this to be a friendship quilt or a family quilt. The names are all hand embroidered in beautiful cursive font. This quilt is also beautifully hand quilted. We love the red Toile backing fabric (inside of jacket). This quilt was not made in a humble home. This is not a scrap quilt, the fabrics were very expensive for its day. In our opinion the quilt is very thin, very soft, light weight, and has a great drape. There is some tanning on the white squares throughout, but overall this piece is in excellent condition for its age. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
