This is an Antique American quilt made circa 1890's-1920's. This is a traditional Lone Star Quilt Pattern. The quilt is exceptional for its crisp points, rare fabric combinations, and masterful hand quilting, and meticulously hand sewn. We love the backing fabric(inside of quilt), it is a beautiful red floral calico that can best be appreciated when the jacket is open or the cuffs are rolled. In our opinion the quilt is very soft, very thin, very light weight and has an excellent drape. This jacket is included in this collection because of its rare color pallet, its excellent technical execution, and its age. However, there are zig zag mends throughout the entire jacket and the chocolate brown fabric is disintegrating. There are also a handful of age spots and stains that we could not lift during our washing process. The jacket is priced accordingly. The lucky owner of this historic piece should understand that the fabrics will continue to patina and possibly disintigrate over time and with wear.
