This is an antique, American quilt made circa the 1930s-1940s. This piece was made in the traditional Grandma's Garden quilt pattern. This quilt has been beautifully hand-sewn and hand-quilted, which is a labor of love and a dying art. This quilt is filled with historic feedsack fabrics. We always love a contrast in our pieces as the lemony yellow backing fabric adds cheer and warmth to the overall aesthetic of this piece. One thing we would like to point out is that the buttons are hand-painted by Melissa Burkhart, who also works in our sewing room. She is very talented and we love to take advantage of her many talents when we can. We have added photos to the listings of a few of the buttons.
Please note: there is a small stain on the right front panel of the jacket that we could not lift when washing. We have added a photo at the very end of the listing. Please send us a direct message if you have any questions about this.
- In our opinion, the cotton used in this piece is extremely luxe. This quilt is extremely thin, and lightweight, with little loft (puffiness). It is a perfect summerweight piece.
- This jacket best fits a size 0-8 depending on styling preferences and bust size. We consider this to be a size small. Please reference measurements before purchasing for a specific fit.
This jacket features two generous pockets.
51” top of the back of neck to the bottom of the hem
22.5” laying flat, armpit to armpit, buttoned jacket
22” shoulder seam to the bottom of the arm, uncuffed
Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
