This is an American, antique quilt made circa the 1900-1920. It is a postage stamp and contains many rare Indigo fabrics as well as a few homespun ginghams. This piece is beautifully hand quilted and hand pieced which is a labor of love and a lost art. The quilt is medium weight and medium thickness. Perfect for fall and winter layering. The buttons we chose are hammered and distressed turquoise. Which bring out some of the complimentary green shades throughout this piece. There is light discoloring throughout on the minty green squares. There are also a few marks that look like branding or block stamped throughout the quilt the we cannot identify. We have tried to show you examples of this in the latter photos of the listing.
This jacket best fits a size 0-8 depending on styling preferences and bust size. We consider this to be a size small. Please reference measurements before purchasing for a specific fit.
This jacket features two generous pockets.
This piece is lightweight but of medium thickness. It has loft to it but it is not heavy at all.
50” top of the back of neck to the bottom of the hem
22.5” laying flat, armpit to armpit, buttoned jacket
22” shoulder seam to the bottom of the arm, uncuffed
Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
