This was made with a Paragon quilt kit that was featured on the cover of Good Housekeeping in the 60's. It was made to celebrate Americana.  As a result, it became wildly popular. We are obsessed with the Folk Art Motifs, specifically the bell at the back of the neck  The detail in this applique is stunning, the tiny stars on the eagles shield to the tiny eagle claws. This piece is beautifully hand quilted and hand appliqued. The maker used extremely soft luxe cotton. It is thin, lightweight, has a little loft(puffiness).
