This quilt is an authentic, antique American Crazy quilt made completed in 1905 most likely started in 1903. This piece is loaded with significance and stories. It is heavily hand-stitched with many different kinds of turkey track stitching and other intricate hand stitches. As is the case with most crazy quilts, this piece is a wonderful fabric study from the early 1900’s. There are silks, cottons, and wools. The back of the quilt, inside of the jacket, is made of a beautiful muted paisley thin fabric, making this jacket very comfortable to wear with ease.
This Market Jacket is a cropped style with two generous pockets.
For your convenience, this coat has a hanging loop at the back of the neck.
This coat is an extra small to small size depending on how you like to style your clothing. Please reference measurements for specific fit, and please send us a DM via Instagram for any clarification about sizing. We would be happy to send you more information about this jacket via Instagram.
The buttons are a mix of different antique, wooden buttons in various sizes and shapes.
Please note that there is some fraying in the fabric, specifically the back where the dates are. This does not affect the integrity of the jacket but we felt it necessary in keeping with the story of the quilt to use the dates as a focal point.
We sewed a little penny on the sleeve for good luck.
21.5” top of back of neck to the bottom of the hem

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
