This is an authentic, antique American quilt made circa the 1930s. It is the traditional Hearts and Gizzards quilt pattern. The quilt is masterfully hand-sewn and hand-quilted. It is important to note that this jacket was a true rescue. There are patches and reinforcement stitches throughout this jacket. We believe it still has a lot of life left. If you have a tendency to wear your clothing hard, we do not advise this jacket for you. While we think there is still a lot of life left in this piece and we would not consider it brittle or frail, we also think you should keep its history in mind. We have shown photos of the patches and reinforcement stitches at the end of this listing; however, if you would like more details please send us a direct message and we would be happy to send you videos.
This quilt has been made with high-end lux cotton, making it extremely soft and comfortable to wear. In our opinion, this quilt is thin, and lightweight, with a little loft (puffiness) and the perfect drape.
- This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
- The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.
- One Size Fits Most

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
