This is an American, antique quilt made in the traditional Postage Stamp quilt pattern. We cannot credibly date this piece. It is sewn by hand; however, there is little to no quilting over the postage stamps. If you like to see an elaborate amount of quilting on your jackets this is not a good candidate for you. We love the rose-colored fabric on the back of the quilt (inside of the jacket) which can best be seen when the cuffs are rolled or the jacket is worn upside down. It is also very easy to style as the palette looks amazing with absolutely everything. We consider this piece to be a very fun wear as it is very comfy and soft, with loft (puffiness). If you are looking for a blankie with arms or a travel mate this is a great candidate for you. There are also very tiny age marks on some of the fabrics on this jacket. We have included a photo at the end of the listing of the age marks for full transparency.
- The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
- This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
- The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
