This is an American, antique quilt made circa 1930s-1940s. It is the traditional and sentimental Wedding Ring quilt pattern. It is beautifully and lovingly hand quilted and hand sewn. The maker of this piece showed off her quilting skills by changing the quilt pattern from the star to the mountains. If you look closely you can see the variation in each beautiful stitch. This quilt contains some mens shirt scraps, historic feed sack fabrics, and novelty fabrics from its era. Our absolute favorite thing about this quilt is the gorgeous floral contrasting fabric used on the back of the quilt (inside of the jacket). This can best be seen when the cuffs are rolled or the jacket is worn inside out. In our opinion this quilt is a 10/10. If you love to wear your Ethel jacket upside down this is a great piece for you. In our opinion, this is a thin, very soft, light weight quilt with an excellent floppy drape. It has a little loft (puffiness.)

  • This is a very light weight, very thin quilt.
  • The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
  • This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
  • The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.
  • One Size Fits Most

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
