This is an American, antique quilt made circa 1920s-1930s. This piece is masterfully hand quilted and hand sewn. The seams are still very very tight. This piece is quilted at approximately 9/10 stitches per inch. This is the traditional Hearts and Gizzards quilt pattern. The quilt exhibits minor sun bleaching throughout. Overall, it is in impeccable condition for its age despite the sun bleaching. Which in our opinion, adds depth to the overall look. This is a very graphic piece of wearable pop art. Every time you look at it you see something different. Because of its dense quilting it is not as floppy and drapey as many of our pieces. It is thin, light weight, with a little loft (puffiness). PLEASE NOTE: THE SLEEVES ON THIS PIECE ARE APPROXIMATELY 2 INCHES SHORTER THAN OUR TYPICAL ETHEL PATTERN SLEEVES. THIS IS PERFECT FOR PETITES OR THOSE WHO DON'T CARE FOR A BULKY CUFF. IF YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF TO HAVE LONG ARMS THIS IS NOT A GOOD PIECE FOR YOU.
- The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
- This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
- The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
