This is an authentic, antique American quilt made circa 1930s-1940s. While the Lone Star is a very traditional and common quilt pattern, the palette and fabric selections this quilt are completely unorthodox and rarely seen. We believe that the quilt was backed much later than the quilt top was constructed. The backing fabric is charming and we love how it completiments the jacket. this can best be seen when the cuffs are rolled or when the jacket is worn upside down. We have shown photos at the end of the listing when it is worn upside down.
Please note, there is a small mark that we could not lift when washing. It is on the back shoulder blade of the jacket and is smaller than a dime. Please see photos for reference.
We consider this quilt to be extremely, thin, lightweight, with no batting, and with a great drape.
This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
- The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
