This is an authentic, antique American quilt made circa the 1930s-1940s. It was made in a variation of the Washington Stamp quilt pattern. This beauty contains novelty fabrics and a few historic feedsack fabrics from its era. This palette and fabric combination is so rare and we believe this was definitely made by an outside-the-box creative. It has been beautifully hand-quilted. This quilt was very time-consuming to make. The postage stamp pieces are 1"x1" which is very, very tiny. The tinier the pieces, the more technically difficult the quilt is to make.

Please note: this quilt is very sturdy and in good condition. However, in order to fortify it, we have done a few zig-zag mends throughout. For your convenience, we have included a photo for description purposes at the very end of the listing.

  • In our opinion, the quilt is thin, and lightweight, with a little loft (puffiness). We consider it to be made with very soft cotton fabric.

  • This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.

  • The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.

  • If you have any questions about this jacket please direct message us on Instagram and we will answer your question as quickly as possible. We do not accept returns. If you have any doubt please do not purchase. For sizing questions direct message us via Instagram and we will be happy to send videos showing how our jackets fit.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
