The Helen is a mid-length jacket that falls right above the knee. This jacket is made from an American vintage quilt. It is hand quilted and the quilting is beautifully done and most obvious on the inside of the jacket because the navy thread contrasts beautifully against the ivory fabric. This fact will make this jacket a showstopper when worn inside out. The deep colors and jewel tones in this quilt are extremely striking. The quilt pattern is a traditional Irish Chain.
Please note: this quilt has not seen a lot of prelove. As a result, it is a structured piece. It is not drapey or floppy but its structure remains when worn.
This is a light to medium weight and light to medium thickness quilt.
This jacket features side slits for generous movement and a beautiful drape.
This jacket has two clear snaps at the tips of the collar that secure the lapel if desired.
This jacket has two pockets.
Fold the architectural collar down to create a lapel if desired.
The Helen Jacket has a generous fit and is not meant to have a tailored look.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
