This quilt is an American antique quilt made circa the 1930s-1940s. It is the whimsical Sun Bonnet Sue applique quilt. Sun Bonnet Sue was a popular children’s book character originating in 1908. This quilt is beautifully hand quilted and the appliques are hand-sewn onto the quilt. In addition to that, each Sun Bonnet Sue has decorative hand embroidery work, topstitching, french knotting throughout. We have tried to show you some of these details and textures in the photos.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
