This is the confluence of a very rare vintage Army Air Force vest and a 1880's-1890's Fence Rail quilt. The quilt is made of many different fabric scraps such as silks, wools, velvets, tweeds, and cottons. There are a few tiny bite marks on some of the quilt fabrics but this is in overall amazing shape for its age. The many different pockets on this vest make it a piece of art. This vest is to die for and an insane find! Every single tiny and large pocket is labeled. Here are some of our favorites: Fire starter, knife, and whistle, signal mirror, rations, personal items. The backing of the quilt is a soft plaid flannel that we have tried to show in the photos.
