The Helen is a mid-length jacket that falls right above the knee. This specific quilt was made circa 1920s to 1930. It has been expertly handing quilted and hand pieced, which is a labor of love and a dying art. This is a masterpiece. It is in excellent condition. The backing of the quilt, inside of the jacket, is an antique muslin fabric. It is the traditional nine patch quilt pattern. This quilt has a haberdashery vibe as it contains scraps from old men’s shirts. It is extremely soft and drapey cotton.
This is a lightweight to medium weight quilt.
This jacket features side slits for generous movement and beautiful drape.
This jacket has two clear snaps at the tips of the collar that secure the lapel if desired.
We were only able to get one pocket out of this due to the smaller size of the quilt.
Fold the architectural collar down to create a lapel if desired.
The Helen Jacket has a generous fit and is not meant to have a tailored look.

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
