This is an antique, American quilt made circa the 1950s. It is very hard to find a primary color rainbow quilt like this. It is the traditional Lone Star quilt pattern and is completely hand quilted. Whoever quilted this piece went above and beyond because they changed the quilt template when quilting on the white fabric versus the diamonds. We were able to lay this quilt out in a way that shows this off as the front white panels of the jacket have huge flowers quilted into the fabric. Some people may be distracted by the bright colors but we believe the quilting on the negative space of this piece is just as striking as the actual bright colored diamond piecing.
Please see the photos for best descriptions but we have added six opalescent, oversized beetle buttons down the front of this piece.
This jacket best fits a size 0-8 depending on styling preferences and bust size. We consider this to be a size small. Please reference measurements before purchasing for a specific fit.
This jacket features two generous pockets.
This piece is lightweight but of medium thickness. It has loft to it but it is not heavy at all.
50” top of the back of neck to the bottom of the hem
21.5” laying flat, armpit to armpit, buttoned jacket
23” shoulder seam to the bottom of the arm, uncuffed
Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years old and are perfectly worn. We believe this is what makes them special and is part of their charm. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend only spot cleaning if necessary.
